Born and grownup in Western native township (Westbury) where I lived, until we settled a few streets away, in Sophiatown (Kofifi).
My grandparents Rachel (Mantaria) and Thomas with their seven kids were one of many families displaced in 1960’s. It gives me great pride being the grandaughter of such incredible people.
Cupcakes has been established since 2025, holding to the values taught by my ouma and with a passion for baking (and cooking). Being a working mom, Miranda’s goal to one day own her own start-up was a priority…and a reality.
She lives a full life being a stroke survivor and an avid supporter of the Lupus foundation.
All thanks to the Almighty working through her medical team.
It has been a lot of work - early hours and long days, and even longer when the holidays roll around. I have a hard working family and I couldn’t do it without them.
We all work together. Teamwork.
They use oumaIvy and auntyMandy’s original recipes with a combination of what Miranda learned over the years, which take some time, but it makes all the difference when it comes to taste.
I love the pursuit of the fear (Love) of the Lord that is the beginning of wisdom and I can testify that the more you are anchored in the Word of God and taking every thought captive to obedience to Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 10:5), the more confident you will become in God and his good plan for you. The more your heart will sing for joy in the Lord!
…I am a sinner saved by Grace
